A pair of unassuming glasses

Tipping the package over, a simple pair of eyeglasses slide out into your upturned palm. They're pretty standard glasses, with perhaps slightly oversized lenses. Black plastic frame, neither ugly nor particularly stylish. There are no markings or branding of any kind anywhere to be seen on the frame, but when you look closely at the lenses, a very faint very tiny sort of checkerboard holographic effect can be seen.

Huh. Must be some kind of novelty glasses.

You put the glasses on, but notice nothing interesting in the entryway. Maybe they do something when you look at things further away?

You return to the living room and look around but, again, nothing noteworthy seems to happen. You're about to take them off with the right side of the right lens sort of flickers slightly, like blurred motion, prompting you to turn your head that direction and you're looking directly at the front door.

A moment later, that door opens.
